Sports Physical Therapy

Athletic injuries are essentially orthopedic injuries that have a sport specific component. Your injury may be due to a traumatic fall, collision, or the repetitive strain of your particular sport. Our goal for the athlete is to return them safely and quickly to their sport, and to educate them on proper warm-up and training procedures in order to prevent re-injuries. Our program is uniquely effective, helping return patients to previous levels of sports activity through exercises for the trunk, upper and lower extremities. An office visit focuses not only on prevention and treatment of injuries, but also on education in running styles, throwing technique, and training methods.

Who would benefit from this specialty? Serious athletes, weekend competitors, and recreational enthusiast.

Sport injuries from basketball, baseball, hockey, running, skiing, soccer, golf, tennis, and dance have all been treated by our staff.

Our physical therapists are athletic and have personal experience and understanding of athletic injuries. Physical therapists are trained to take a thorough history of your mechanism of injury, study your patterns of movement, and design a rehabilitation program based on your current status and desired level of activity. Your goal of returning to sports is very important to us.
